Denial Language… How do we determine the correct intent of the policy and the coverages provided?
Do you know what that is?
It is the carrier, in their very sneaky way, removing the currently available coverages… for a small discount that will in no way ever be realized when a loss occurs. If you received a $50.00 discount to remove the indemnity portion of your policy… One sheet of OSB at the current price…
More specific? If you have 2″x 6″ fascia from 10-15 years ago, the actual size was much closer to that number than it is today. That means that when you put the new fascia beside the old fascia, there is a very noticeable difference, that ANYONE can see. A1 says put it back, just the way it was… Indemnity. A2 says we put it together with what is most commonly available… or, the cheapest. Retail.
Line of sight is denial language, and should never be used inside of a conversation about property damage. Indemnity. That is what was purchased, and nothing less should occur.
Did you have a property with 2 types of siding, multi colored paint or shingles with varying different ages? No, then indemnity says that is where you are brought back to.
Funny thing about them adding new language to a policy, or new exclusions. Cosmetic damage waivers, matching exclusions… In the attached photo, notice A1 and A2 coverages. The introduction of this language tells us one thing above all else… it was always A1, until they introduced A2 and began to give a slight discount for it.
Why the discount?
Because it is removing coverage that was… already available.
Class size is now 20, including 2 zoom participants. (Yes, we knocked some walls out.)
While our specific class topic may have one focus, the class will go over all the items listed below, just not necessarily in that order. (Why we don’t offer CE’s. We can, it is just scripted, with no variance, and not a ton of actual practice.)
We combine them for everyday use in our field, to everyday issues you have in the field. We are you…
I have no idea what the text of the previous post was… so I didn’t try to recreate it… just like a claim. Simply explained my issue, acknowledged that issue, and started over.
If you would like to sponsor a Veteran, just reach out to us.
Below is the general syllabus. I say general because the class normally takes on a life of its own, based upon the class as a whole.
While we are certified to teach the full 24 hour class for CE, no one has ever chosen it over the nuts and bolts, so we are no longer using it as an option. It will come back later in individual modules.

Students who have taken and successfully completed our course should be able to read and understand common policy language and conditions. This would include exclusions, endorsements, and claim filing procedures. After each 6-hour class day, there will be an additional 2 hours dedicated to the open discussion, and actual application, based off our collective knowledge in the field. This equivalates to 40 actual classroom hours, more than the required 24. Finally, if the student is not already licensed, that student should be able to schedule, take, and pass the exam provided by Pearson VUE, then be capable of performing their duties once a license is obtained.
We look forward to helping insurance professionals maintain the highest standards possible, by raising those very standards.
